GIMP Brush Customization

GIMP Brush Keyboard Shortcuts:
press Shift+Ctrl+B to open the Brushes Dialog.
press P for Paintbrush tools

GIMP Brush menu:
To open this brush window go to
Windows > Dockable Dialogues > Brushes

GIMP Brush extension file
"gimp brush" a grayscale image as a grayscale brush is using the .gbr file extension.
"gimp image hose") format is used for animated brushes, a colourful image as a colourful brush is using the .GIH file extension.
parametric brushes is using the .VBR file extension.
brush files end with either .abr (photoshop brush), .gbr or .vbr

GIMP Brush Customize Location
To find that folder, in Gimp, go to Edit > Preferences > Folders > Brushes

for Linux and other UNIX systems, this is usually in “~/.gimp-[version]/brushes/”

for Windows systems, this is usually in:
C:\Documents and Settings\[myusername]\.gimp-[version]\brushes
C:\Users\[myusername]\.gimp-[version]\brushes

for Macintosh:
To find that folder, in Gimp, go to Edit->Preferences
Click on the little arrow next to Folders, and then click on Brushes.
for Windows systems, this is usually in:
User Home > Library > Application Support
